The Associations AGM took place on 26th February 2015 in Omagh Library at 7.30pm. all the usual business was conducted on the evening with the minutes from the previous AGM read out. There were no matters arising and the Secretary’s and Treasurers report were read out. It was decided due to the healthy state of the accounts that no rise in the membership fee was needed. There were other costs due in this year which may change the Clubs finances over the year namely the case to protect the fishing rights on the Camowen River. We have now taken legal counsel on the matter which could have an impact on the monies in our deposit account.
We had a few changes on the Committee with the main change being the retirement of Bobby Rodgers after 51 years as an office bearer for Omagh Anglers. Freddie Spratt is the new Chairman for the coming year. Laura Smithson has also retired from the role of Assistant Secretary and this role was filled by Tommy Quinn. We had vacancies for two new committee members(with Russell Flemings retirement and Freddie Spratt appointed to the Chair) and these are filled by R. Hannigan and J.Martin.
I would like to thank Bobby ,Laura and Russell for all the help they have given to the club over the years on behalf of all the members and I would like also to thank Bobby for the 51 years in a driving role that helped put Omagh Anglers in the position that they are in today and wish all plenty of more years at the riverbank.
